Where are blökalöks made?

blökalöks are made in Portland, Oregon, USA

How long does it take to ship?

2-3 weeks depending on the size of the order.

How does the wall attach to the floor?

They simply rest on the floor surface and are not attached to existing floors or walls. Which means there's no damage to your permanent fixtures. Woo-hoo!

Can the wall extend from the floor to ceiling?

Unfortunately, our product can't be used for this purpose because the top row of bloks need to be dropped into place on the row of bloks beneath them.  A hard ceiling would prevent this action.

How do walls attach to each other?

Walls are attached to each other at 90 degrees using an additional part that you attach to the end of each wall using screws and a screwdriver.

What if I need a wall that is not the same size as what your calculator shows is possible?

Bloks are a fixed dimension both in width and height. Just choose the closest option. :)

Can I select a different material for each side of the wall?

Not currently. If it is something you really need, we might be cajoled into doing it. It's a tough process so it'll cost a pretty penny.

What wall thicknesses are available?

Bloks are 2.5 inches thick, which are comprised of two 1/4" wood panels, 2" solid wood ties, and a 2" rockwool core is optional.

Can you make walls from a custom material not shown on your site?

Probably. Contact us and we'll see what we can do.

What are the material options for the core?

Rockwool. We can also use rigid foam such as polystyrene.

Will these walls support a load?

Yes. Simply contact us to discuss what you have in mind before placing an order. However, the load amount will depend on how high the wall is, and whether or not you have adjacent walls attached, etc.

What keeps the wall from tipping over?

Feet attached to the bottom of the wall will minimize tipover risk. Adjacent walls attached together will prevent this entirely.

Are these walls a good sound barrier?

Yep. If you are a low-talker, we won't be able to hear you at all. If you're a loud-talker, we might hear you a bit. If you're a close-talker, we'd prefer you talk to someone else.
